When a service address is vacant or wrong, PPS Serve documents the attempt and tells you what to send so the file can move.

A vacant or wrong address is a delay, not a dead file. Send a usable next address and we document what the field actually found. When this situation comes up Counsel files with the last known address. The server finds a vacant unit, a building that does not match the papers, a business that never heard of the person, or a house with a different name on the mailbox. Those facts belong in the attempt note. They are not a ruling on the lawsuit. This page is for the searcher who already knows the first address is a problem.
