Process Serving Status Updates Explained
What process serving statuses mean after you submit: review, assignment, attempts, served, unsuccessful, and completed. PPS Serve customer view.
Status language should match what you can see. These are the stages clients hear about. They are not a promise of instant, minute-by-minute updates. Intake and review After you submit, the request is on file. Intake reads the packet, the address, and the timing you asked for. You may see this as request received or under review. If pages or a usable address are missing, the file waits there until they arrive. Ready for assignment When the packet is confirmed and any required payment step is done, the request is ready for a field agent. Ready for assignment means the office can send the work. It does not mean someone is already at the door. Assigned Assigned for service means a process server has the authorized address. Updates after this point come from documented visits, not from a live map of the car. Attempt recorded Each visit should produce a note: date, time, place, and what happened. That is an attempt recorded. Tracking does not always show a separate badge for every knock. The attempt count and the note are the record. Served, unsuccessful, and completed Served means the authorized service was completed as documented. Unsuccessful means attempts were made and the person was not served as requested. Completed, in the client view, is when the file has moved through the work and proof is being prepared or has been released. Those labels describe the file. They do not decide what a court will accept. How to check status If you received a confirmation email, use the secure tracking link in that message. Track Request opens that link. A request number typed into a public form is not the current path. Updates are written when intake has something to report. They are not a live feed. Why has the status not changed since I submitted? Intake may still be reviewing the packet, waiting on a missing page, or confirming timing. That pause is normal. Call (615) 499-6491 if you need a same-day read on a complete file. Does assigned mean the first attempt already happened? No. Assigned means a server has the work. The first attempt is recorded when the visit is documented.
