Multiple Defendants or Addresses

Several defendants or addresses on one matter: how to pair each name with a location so PPS Serve can attempt the right doors.

One caption, several people, several doors. The request should pair each name with the address counsel wants served. When this situation comes up A complaint names more than one defendant. A person has a home and a job. A company has an agent and a store. Counsel wants attempts at more than one place, sometimes on the same day. Files stall when names and addresses are in a pile with no pairing. The server cannot guess which door belongs to which person. What PPS Serve can handle PPS Serve attempts service at each address you authorize. Each location gets its own attempt record. Intake confirms how the work is scoped and priced before field work begins. We do not assume that serving one person covers the rest. If two people live at one unit, say so. If they do not, send both addresses. What to include with the request Make the pairings obvious. A short list beats a long narrative. Each defendant name as it appears on the papers The address authorized for that person, with unit A second address for the same person, if counsel wants it Which documents go with which person, if they differ The deadline that applies to the matter Workplace or agent addresses called out as such What updates and proof to expect You should be able to read, person by person and door by door, what happened. Mixed notes that blend two defendants in one paragraph are not useful later. If one address fails and another is still good, say which file to keep moving. Send updates in writing. Is this one request or several? Send one packet that pairs each name with an address. Intake confirms whether the work is one matter with several attempts or needs a split. Fees are confirmed before field work. Can one successful serve close the whole caption? That is a legal question for your attorney. PPS Serve records who was served at which authorized address.
