What Service Do I Need?
Choose routine, rush, same-day, eviction, or out-of-state process serving before you submit a request. A practical PPS Serve guide.
Use this page to match the papers in your hand to the request you should send. Fees and timing are confirmed at intake. Start with the papers and the deadline The right request is the one that matches the document, the address, and the date you have to meet. PPS Serve reviews each file before field work begins. You do not need a perfect legal category — you do need a readable packet and an honest deadline. If you already know the address and have the documents, submit a request. This page is here when you are choosing between routine, rush, same-day, eviction-related papers, or out-of-state work. Routine process serving Choose routine when the deadline is measured in business days, not hours. Routine work includes documented attempts at the address you authorize. Starting points are listed on pricing. We confirm the window after we see the packet. Summons, complaint, or other civil papers with a normal court date A service address you believe is current Time to complete attempts without a same-day window Rush and same-day Choose rush or same-day when the court date or filing deadline is close. Those windows are confirmed at intake. A tight date on the papers does not automatically create a same-day serve. Call (615) 499-6491 when the packet is complete and the deadline is close. Landlords, notices, and eviction papers If the file is a notice, detainer, or other rental-property papers, send the unit number and the occupant name as they appear on the documents. Use the landlord checklist if you are packing the file. PPS Serve handles the field work. Notice rules belong with your attorney. Out-of-state papers If the papers were issued outside Tennessee and need to be served here, start with out-of-state document service. Domestication, when it applies, is confirmed at intake. Our domestication coordination fee is $65. Any court or clerk fee is confirmed before filing. PPS Serve helps coordinate document handling and process service; legal questions should be reviewed with your attorney. What to send with any of these Documents, full name, best address, deadline, and any access notes you have. Printing: first 20 pages included. Additional pages are $0.25 per page. Can I submit if I am not sure which service name to pick? Yes. Send the documents, address, and deadline. Intake confirms the work and the fee before field attempts begin. Does this page tell me which court form to use? No. This is a request-path guide, not legal advice. Ask your attorney which papers to file and serve.
